Roberto Casamonti Private Collection

Roberto Casamonti, founder in 1981 of Tornabuoni Arte, opened this past March a new space for modern and contemporary art in Florence. Located in the Palazzo Bartolini Salimbeni, a high Renaissance-style palace located in the one of the most exclusives must sites in Florence, Via de Tornabuoni on Piazza Trinità.

The antique palace restored, host a 250 operas personal selection of Roberto Casamonti, along his activity in the art world during his life. A choosing that represents the artistic revolution trough the XX century.

The Collection hold works by Italian and international artist as Fattori, Boldini , Balla, Picasso, Leger, Klee, Wharhol, and Basquiat.

The private collection is a half way between a museum and a private residence from the antique renaissance under 20-foot-high ceilings decorated in gold leaf.  Divided in two sections, the first includes works from the beginning of the twentieth century until the 1960s, while the second spans the second half of the century from the 1960s until now days, exhibited in chronologic order and by art movement.
